  • What do I get for my MAAP membership?
  • Discounted rates on continuing education training (CET), free Master Workouts, networking opportunities, latest industry news, exposure to sponsors and suppliers of aquatic fitness equipment, and email notices on upcoming events and employment opportunities.
  • What is the difference between a CET and a Master Workout?
  • A CET is a training given by a national presenter for AEA continuing education credits (CECs). There is a cost to attend a CET. Master Workouts are presented by a MAAP member and are free for MAAP members. They are opportunities to network and have fun.
  • What does the host facility for a Master Workout have to provide, and what are the benefits?
  • A Master Workout is a 1-1/2 hour event. There is a 30-minute explanation of the class, then a 1-hour pool session. We need classroom or deck space for the lecture and a section of the pool big enough for 25-30 participants. If necessary, we can provide our own lifeguard. We will work with the host facility on selecting a time slot that is convenient for the facility. Someone from the host facility can address the group about any job openings they might have. Host facility instructors can attend for free.
  • What does the host facility for a CET have to provide, and what are the benefits?
  • For a CET MAAP brings in a nationally known presenter who conducts either half-day or full-day trainings. We need classroom space for a 1-1/2 hour lecture with Power Point presentation and 1-1/2 hours of pool space for 25-30 participants. If the CET is a full day, there is a lecture & pool session in the morning and another one in the afternoon. If necessary, we can provide our own lifeguard. We will work with the host facility on selecting a time slot that is convenient for the facility. Someone from the host facility can address the group about any job openings they might have. There is a charge for attending but 6 instructors at the host facility can attend for free.
  • How can my facility post job openings on the website?
  • Go to Contact and email us the information about your job opening. Include the name and address of your facility, the position you want filled (for example, water fitness instructor for a MW 9:00 AM class), your certification requirements, the pay, and who to contact to apply for the opening along with his/her email address or phone number.
